Not sure if this is the right place to post this but anyway ...

I have been using this little app called netpsec for about a year now and find it really useful to get bandwith/latency info realtime. Very unobtrusive when I run it from the tray.

http://www.jus4r.com/netpsec.htm

Give it a try and tell me what you think. On anothe note; After installing some of those TCP/RWIN apps from your site my (before) 2-4k down and 85-95 up to 1.1Meg down and 85-121 up (after) SMOKIN!

BTW ... THANKS Michael and all the contributors to this forum and the EVDOinfo site. YOU DUDES ROCK!

Thanks for the kudos! Glad you enjoy the sites.

Please tell me that your previous message had a little type.

That was 200K - 400K BEFORE and it went to 1.1mb download?

That jump was from this tip:

SuperCharged EVDO - Performance Tip

BTW, yes you posted the link to the netpsec app in the correct area - thanks for sharing.

Also, be sure to post your above comments in the other thread - so others can see there are optimizations to be done (and they are free!)

It all depemds on the time of day/traffic/signal strength etc ...
I modified my registry setinngs (with the apps I got from your sites) and was static at 2 to 3 bars, 10:am, probably no rn-connections on the BTS I was logged onto ... so YES, the performance gain was UNREAL!

YW ... just wish I had more to offer as I just maintain these EVDO/Voice site's for VZW and am really getting into the EVDO cause not many tech's in my group are proficient with the new technology.

Also, be sure to post your above comments in the other thread - so others can see there are optimizations to be done (and they are free!)

Are you referring to the netprsec app? If so, what thread should I post it in?

ANYWAY ... this EVDO stuff is cool. My office is my truck and would be tit's up W/O it.
THANKS again!

NetPerSec is a nice tool. HOWEVER - be aware - it does report occasional spikes that are higher than the technology is capable of doing. For example, I stopped using it because it showed 1XRTT occasionally spiking to 160k or higher. As you know, that is not possible.

If you ignore the occasional abhorrent spikes, the tool works fine.
