This thread will discuss what type of Antenna connector is used on the Sierra AirCard 595U. When we met with Sierra at the CTIA show last month, they indicated that the antenna connector on the AirCard 595U was DIFFERENT compared to the AirCard 595 PCMCIA.

After we get one for testing, we will determine what type of connector is used.

Any news on the connector for the 595U? I just picked on up on Friday and am interested in getting a booster antenna from you for it.

As it is I'm getting rev a 250-450kbs down/60kbs up with 0-3 bars of signal and an occasional drop to 1xrtt. While this that kinda sucks its still beats my old dialup by alot so I'm probably going to keep it. It would be nice to be able to get an antenna and see hopefully some better speeds out of it before I'm locked in for 2 years though.

I'm in the same situation. I definitely need something to boost my signal.

It is NOT the same as the AirCard 595 PCMCIA. We tried a few others too, still haven't found one that works.

Still looking.

Hmm between the lack of antenna right now and some random lockups I'm thinking about swapping out the 595U for the standard PCMCIA 595 card and giving it a try before my 30 days are up.

I think I'll play with using NDIS first though instead of the SCM and see if I still get the lockups with the 595U.

According to Sprints site it is a SMB antenna connector.

How long will it be till you have a Booster Antenna package for sale supporting the AC595U do you think?

We will post a link a little later today after we finish adding them to 3Gstore.com

Here are a couple of snapshots of the 595U with the booster antenna:

We will be shipping the 595U antennas tomorrow (Friday 5/3/2007)

You can order 595U Antennas and accessories at:

3Gstore 595U Antennas and Amps

Testing the booster antenna for the 595U, I saw minimum gains at my house, because my signal was already awesome.

At the office, it went from -83dBm to -73dBm.

got my order in. I have a decent signal but no where near what some of these folks are reporting. Will be interested in seeing what kind of improvement I can get out of it.

is there anyway to extend the antenna?

I gotta say that the turn around time with 3Gstore is excellent. I ordered the booster antenna for the 595U yesterday morning with standard FedEx Home shipping and according to the Fedex its waiting at home for me on my porch right now.

I'll post later this weekend with what kind of performance improvements it results in.

Thanks for your order and comments.

Just a quick note, we ship outside of Chicago, since you are in the next state, FedEx Ground/Home will only take 1 day.

Looking forward to your comments.
