|
|
I'm looking for options to extend an EVDO USB connection to several computers in one room, presumably via some sort of router/bridge/hub such that the EVDO-USB device (presumably purchased from Verizon or Sprint) plugs into said hardware, and ethernet connections "share" the EVDO connection.
Do such things exist?
If not for USB, for PCMCIA (which I believe I have seen previously)?
Can you point me to products/reviews/websites/vendors?
I am a bit of a newbie in this area, sorry for any faqs; I couldn't find any succinct threads describing this in my search on evdoforums.com.
Thanks for any help,
-Matt |

Matt, we've done reviews on the popular KR1 and Linksys routers:
Kyocera KR1 EVDO Router
Linksys EVDO Router
The KR1 does work with the USB Modems from Sprint/Verizon, but there is a speed issue that should be fixed with next firmware revision, due out soon.
You might also want to check out our comprehensive chart of EVDO devices... it lists what device works with what router.

| I was wondering if there is a way to share internet access through an existing router or if I HAVE to buy the new EVDO router? Can't I just set up internet sharing through my computer that my aircard is connected through? Thanks! |

Absolutely! Just like a dialup connection. _________________ Nevermind... |
