This thread will discuss if the PC5750 EVDO Rev A PCMCIA from Verizon is compatible with Kyocera KR1.
Currently, the PC5750 is not compatible (tested through firmware RK1008).
As new any new KR1 firmware is released we will test and report if the KR1 & PC5750 are compatible to this thread. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| I'm hoping that this will work when the PX-500 works since they are effectively the same device. They may change the PID though so we'll see what happens. |

I just tried a 5750 in my KR1. The one that I have, does not even seem to make contact in my KR1. Is this because I have an early KR1 housing? I recall an issue with some of the other rev 0 cards in the early KR1's. I realize that you are reporting that the 5750 does not currently work with the KR1. My concern is that if they resolve this issue with a new software release, I would like to know what options I will have to resolve this issue.
Thanks,

Lee,
I see that you got the KR1 from us, can you please email your S/N of your KR1 to us at 'support at 3Gstore.com'. Please indicate that your PC card is not inserting.

Michael,
I have sent the information as requested. Once again, your responsiveness has assured me that I did the right thing with all of the people I have sent your way. I know of at least 3 who have purchased their EVDO cards and service from you (even though they already had cellular service locally) and one have bought their KR1 from you as well. Everyone I know has been happy with your service!
Thanks again,
Lee |

|
|
I have the KR1 running a U720 from Sprint with absolutely no problems. However, I also have a 5750 card from Verizon that is supplied by my employer. Coverage is better is certain areas with Verizon not to mention that their speed is often superior, at least in my area.
Problem is the KR1 will not hold the signal on the 5750. It constantly drops out and requires a hard reboot to regain the signal. And it doesn't take long for the drop out to occur either.....usually less than 5 minutes. I did see in another thread that some success was made by disabling wireless on the KR1, but that has made no difference in my situation.
Anyone had a similar problem and been able to find a solution?
Thanks for any suggestions. |
