Howdy All,

I signed up with Sprint and I am roaming on Alltel's network here in Mississippi. My question is what are good speeds for Rev0, which I think Alltel is still on?

I have a Pantech PX-500 and the best download/upload I have been able to get is 400/50. Outside at my house, I can get -80s db, but at work I can get down to -60s db. No matter where I am, I still avg around the same download/upload.

Is this typical of RevA or Alltel's EVDO in Mississippi?

Thanks for your time,

Ansar

Pretty much EVDO is EVDO. I'm pretty sure Alltel hasn't rolled out an inferior EVDO but there are so many variables as to what kind of speeds you will get. That's not at all great speeds obviously but it is EVDO and it is way better than dial-up!! Pretty cool that Sprint and Alltel are allowing EVDO roaming at all now. Wasn't too many months ago if you were out of Sprint's native EVDO you were on 1x so . . . . . . Take a look at the tweaks thread on this forum and the data tuning thread as well for some tips on optimizing your EVDO experience. Good luck!!

I'm riding down Interstate 10 now passing Ocean Springs/Biloxi and getting from 700-900kbps at 90mph (on alltel)

update: just got 1165kbps

Ain't it cool!! But it sounds like you may need a radar detector built into your EVDO card!! Be careful!! Very Happy Very Happy
