|
|
I found this on a web site while reading about EVDO.
| Quote: | | Chances are that your laptop is also configured for automatic Windows and virus updates, meaning your system may be downloading megabytes of information and you won't even realize it. This slows down the performance of other applications |
That is a good point. For Windows users, it may be a good idea to double check the Windows Automatic Update feature and see if it is enabled and at what time downloading takes place (Control Panel -> Automatic Updates).
It may be a good idea to change your settings to Notify me but don't automatically download or install them. That way, you will be notified, but downloading will not happen automatically. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Another thing to consider - I recently downloaded the new Microsoft Validation Update Procedure. The download and install went just fine. HOWEVER, if you are running Venturi (ON) - you will be greeted with an error message indicating that the download of an update didn't work. I found that if I shut down Venturi (OFF) - the update download works just fine. I turn it back on after the update is complete. Go figure! |

For the most part, I usually leave Venturi off. |
I uninstalled it after two days.
