At the CTIA show, UTStarcom was showing the PPC6800, an upgrade to the PPC6700 Smartphone. This model no longer has the antenna sticking out, runs Windows Mobile 5.0
The PPC6800 will be smaller, thinner and lighter than the Verizon VX6700 and Sprint PPC-6700.
More info when this EVDO Rev A device becomes available.

Would be hqppy to give you guys the business if you can sell me a 6800. I'll probably not renew contract at the time (forego equipment subsidy).
Thanks,

FYI, it looks like the PPC6800 will be released as an EVDO Rev A device with EVDO Rev 0 firmware. A future free firmware upgrade to be released later this year will upgrade the device to EVDO Rev A.
More info in a few weeks _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Michael, can you sell the PPC-6800 when available? I'd be interested in buying here and probably won't opt to extend my Sprint contract.

We have primarily been focusing on ONLY EVDO data cards over the last few years, actually, that is 100% of our business/sales/support/etc.
Starting with the PPC6800, we will start to sell and support PDAs as well.
We think the PPC6800 is going to be a hot device, in fact, it might be the device many of us have been waiting on. We have become familiar with many devices recently and we think the PPC-6800 will be a killer device.
In fact, it will be the device that I use personally I will be ordering one when it ships and we will be able to do a lot more testing and reviewing the device.
More info to be posted soon, but look for us to start selling and supporting the PPC-6800 when it is released from Sprint shortly. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Hard to believe the 6800 is finally about to be released but there's no info about it on the Sprint site... |

The PPC-6800 (Mogul by HTC), has officially been announced.
It is shipping this week.
We have already placed an order, so we will have a LOT more info over the coming days.
HTC by Mogul, PPC-6800 - EVDOinfo.com
We expect the demand for this item to be HUGE, you can order at:
https://3gstore.com/sprint/pdas.php
At this point, we are selling with new 2 year contracts. If you are eligible for an upgreade, we can handle those also. If you want to purchase without a contract, at this point, your only option is direct from Sprint. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| I'm pretty much ready to give up on PalmOS/Treo and go to a WM6 phone soon. This one looks like it has everything I want but I am concerned about getting to the contacts quickly w/out having to slideout the keyboard. It's nice on treo to just hit the first letter or two in the phone app and quickly get to who you want. Anyone know if there is a quick way on WM6 w/out opening the keyboard up? Calling from contacts is clunky on the 6700/WM5. |

Here is a link to the PPC-6800 user guide from Sprint:
http://www.sprint.com/cdma/assets/pdfs/phone_guides/htc/ppc_6800_ug.pdf
186 pages long. Check out page 39; Smart Dialing
might be what you are looking for.
A tip for quick navigation when viewing pdf files. At the
bottom of the screen is a box indicating the current page
number (e.g, (45 of 186)). Click in the box with your
mouse, enter the page number you want to jump to,
and press return. |
