|
|
We all know that Verizon and Sprint do not currently offer EVDO roaming between the two networks. This thread will discuss the marketing, technical and other aspects of if that may happen in a few years. I would have guessed NO WAY. EVDO all comes down to EVDO Coverage. The only question someone should ask before purchasing is:
Which carrier has the EVDO Coverage Where I NEED IT
That answer will determine which Carrier you go with (Verizon or Sprint or ALLTEL in the US).
There is NO reason why the 2 carriers would want to offer EVDO roaming today (except maybe Sprint would like it, since Verizon has such a huge lead in the EVDO Coverage department).
Today, there was a press release , between Verizon and Sprint. They are allowing text messages and MMS messages between the subscribers of the two companies. So, if they can do this now, maybe, 2-3 years down the road, they can offer EVDO Roaming. Maybe they won't need to.
