|
|
I have a KR-1 with a Sprint S720. This combination provides shared access to the several computers in my home.
Using the web-based interface to the KR1, is there any way to determine if the S720 is operating in RTT or EVDO mode? And if in EVDO, what the Rev is?
I have tested the S720 directly in a Windows PC using their connection manager, and it's obvious from that that the information is available, but I need to be able to see it when the card is in the KR1 and not in the PCMCIA slot of the laptop.
Thanks.

Bill Lee | Bill, there isn't a way through the KR1 interface to see the type of connection you're looking for. The best way is simply doing a speed test. If your downloads are over 150kbps or so you're on EVDO. If your uploads are over 200kbps or so then you're on EVDO Rev A. |

Thanks. Seems like an upgrade that Kyocera might/shold consider.
Reason for asking: looks like Sprint just expanded their EVDO coverage into my area. Previously was getting only RTT speeds, but this morning am getting EVDO Rev0 speeds here at home. Without taking the card out of the router and sticking into the PC, I was hoping to get some sort of confirmation.
Needless to say, I sure do like the improved speeds!

Ran the speakeasy.net speed test and added the results to the evdomaps.com site. 1012 down, 122 up. As I understand it, that indicates Rev0.
Also kind of "lied" about the location. My mailing address is to a small local city that is several miles away from where I actually live, so I used a town name close by, and a ZIP code similarly. More accurately describes the location.
Suggestion to the keepers of the evdomaps.com: include GPS coordinates as well as street address. Better location information.
