I dont know I am still using my bluetooth connection with tmobile unlimited net for 19.99/month and it is running quite well. I could not justify the v620's current performance or cost of use. I do u/l and d/l frequently but the 1 bar signal strengths I have been getting all over town(delray bch/boca raton) have shown very lackluster performance. It definitely falls between my extreme dsl 3/megs and my tmobile which I dont know why but it is fast.

Can't blame you for that. I wouldn't have done it had I not been in a strong EVDO area.

I wish someone would make an EVDO Finder for your keychain, just like there are WiFi finders.

Perhaps, after this really starts to catch on, someone will fill the need.

I drove from Kendall (just east of Metro-zoo) up the Florida Turnpike to CompUSA in West Palm Beach (about a 150-mile trip near Boca and Delray) and was getting speeds of 300 to 600 with bursts of 900. I was downloading a 268MB file and occasionally glancing over at the stat screen, stopped the download at 50% since I had to go in to a store.

I had a 1,200 burst while in a drive through at BK, but it was short and only once so I didn't really count that.

So far, I am pleased. I'm in between places now so my old cable modem and phone bill covers the cost of this and it is nice not having to drive to a hot spot to access the net. Even with National Access I am getting 140 which is better than the old 56K modem and being able to look up reservations, email and VPN to a mainframe in the car is great. The VPN is a bit slow on National Access, but faster than the internal modem and is very useable, only graphic refresh is noticeably slow.

I did have it go from broadband to national back to broadband while on commercial blvd in frt. lauderdale.

I'm using national access at the moment and its OK. Considering some hotel lines give me a 14k connection on a modem, national access will be a welcomed change.
