| Ordered mine by phone. Victor was a big help in deciding what I needed. I'm looking forward to testing it out! |

I share on-call duties with a co-worker, and he's got a Mac Book Pro (Intel), but I've still got a Powerbook (g4). From what I've read, this looks like a nice modem.. but I want to make sure I'll be able to use it before I upgrade to a Mac Book and Mac Book Pro (sometime next year).
The review says...
| Quote: | | The inclouded software also works on G3/G4/G5 Macs. There is an extra step you have to follow to get it working correctly. |
and
| Quote: | | The Franklin CDU-680 provides Mac OS software for Intel-based Macs only, however, it can work on older Macs. |
Will the CDU680 be as functional on a PPC based mac as a x86 mac? What piece of software doesn't work on PPC?

| I have a MacBook Pro, running the Leopard operating system. When I'm online with the Franklin CDU680 mobile broadband device, sometimes the connection icon disappears from the menu bar. When that happens, I can't find any way to tell the modem to disconnect when I'm done. So, I have to eject it while it's still running and I get error messages when I unplug the device from my computer. Can I prevent the icon from disappearing, or is there a way to restore it to the menu bar, or is there another way to tell the modem to disconnect? |
