I have a PPC-6700 sprint phone. I had to do a hard reset a few weeks ago. Before that I tried evdo once and it appeared to work. I am very unfamiliar with evdo. Anyway, after the hard reset, if I am not on my home wireless network, I cannot get out to the internet. I tried manually entering a modem connection for sprint, country code 1, area code 757 and the number is #777. When it tries to dial I get a message saying no modem at this number. Does any one have a step by step on how to setup a 6700 to connect via evdo and then connect my laptop to it?
Thank you
I have searched the forum, but found no step by step |

Thanks for your help folks, a very simple problem that no one here can figure out. I just needed to remove the dialing rules.
But thanks for nothing. |

You are very welcome. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
Seriously, dude, did you ever think that perhaps nobody answered your request because nobody has had that problem. Or did you want each and every one of us to post a "sorry, can't help you" message????? And insulting us ain't gonna win you any style points or make anyone who sees it want to ever help you. |

No, but it is funny how posts after mine, far more complex, have 5-6 posts offering help, but a simple (very simple ) problem like i had recieves not one post.
Just find it odd, that's all. |

i don't have exact numbers, but for future reference please note that the majority of the discussions on this forum pertain to dedicated evdo devices, as opposed to cell phones used for data access.
simply put, there are more of us on this forum who only know about evdo devices like pc cards, expresscards and usb modems.
you probably would have been better off asking about your phone, at one of many phone forums. |

There's you answer.... The more complex the problem, the more likely it is to have affected a lot of people, be harder to fix and thus generated a bigger thread of questions/hints/tips/fixes/etc. The less complex the problem, the more likely it is that the person with the problem figured it out on their own and never needed to even ask the question in the first place.
Not saying that you should not have asked the question. And perhaps Alex is correct that this was not the best forum for it. But you have to calm down, too. |
