|
|
Hi! Just a question. According to the map at Sprint, I live just about 4 1/2 miles from the nearest EVDO. What antenna would be best to pick up the signal from that distance?
I am willing to spend anything under $1000. Yes, that desperate to get out of Wildblows. Thanks for your help! |

If you want to send the following:
- address
- or better yet, GoogleEarth Long/Lat (some addresses don't map correctly)
send to support at 3gstore.com, we an look at your address, terrain, how close you are AND if you have a shot at it OR not. If you have a shot, we will tell you, IF you don't have a shot (because of terrain), we will tell you that too. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Nothing. I'm completely new to this, but before I purchased anything, I wanted to make sure I could even pull in a signal out here.
So I should just email them my address then to the 3gstore support and ask them? I don't think I feel comfortable posting my address here for everyone to see. |

By the way, the exact long/latitude that GoogleEarth provides is actually more help, since the mapping tools by Sprint (and Verizon), are sometimes not 100% accurate at placing the dot where you live. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Michael,
Youns did the mapping for me. I sent you the address, etc...
You showed me where the tower nearest to me was supposed to be.
Would it be possible to get the exact longitude/latitude for that tower ? |

Thank you Cray.
After almost an hour of frustration, (I am not on broadband yet. Still on dilaup. So it was click, waaaaaaaiiiiiittttt for the map to load, click, wait, click wait, for almost an hour...), I discovered the search is totally useless for me.
They do not have the tower that is nearest to me, in their records.
Thanks anyway.
I hope Michael or Alex will be able to give me the info I need. |

I hope Michael or Alex will be able to give me the info I need. | cellreception.com get's it's information from the FCC, so mabey you can try them. This is an older "text" version:
gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/genmen/index.hts
I perfer it as opposed to the current version, but you can decide for yourself. If you know your lat/long you can go here:
gullfoss2.fcc.gov/cgi-bin/ws.exe/genmen/lat_long.hts
and after you plug it in, do a radius search. Drop the "Radio Service" box down and choose: Cellular [CL]
Sorry for not hyperlinking those URL's for ya, but I cannot. For some reason my profile is retard mode and it is disallowed. Go figure ... |

You can try searchin the FCC website yourself. It has a radius search based upon lat/long and other parameters.

Sometime the older "text" site is faster. *shrug* YMMV.

Well .. I dunno where those two post came from, but those were ones that tried to compose and post.
Judging from the hyperlink in one of them .. it would seem retard mode is off.
