HOLTSVILLE, N.Y., March 19 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The enterprise mobility business of Motorola, Inc. today announced the expansion of its popular line of MC70 Enterprise Digital Assistants (EDA) with support for CDMA-EVDO networks. The new MC70 with CDMA-EVDO compatibility complements the existing GSM/EDGE version -- expanding customer reach by eliminating carrier barriers and providing an enterprise mobility tool that can support nearly any application in any environment.

Designed to withstand all-day everyday use in harsh work environments, Motorola's MC70 is a compact handheld mobile computer combining multi-mode wireless networking, voice and data communications and advanced data capture capabilities in an ergonomic form factor. The MC70 is intended for use both indoors and outdoors allowing users to perform applications such as asset management, parcel delivery, direct store delivery, medication administration, fleet management and mobile point-of-sale.

"The MC70 is ideal for mobile professionals who are not working at a desk or stationary location and need real-time access to people and information while they are on the move," said Bob Chen, vice president and general manager of mobile computing for the enterprise mobility business, Motorola Networks & Enterprise. "The new MC70 with CDMA EVDO compatibility complements the existing GSM/EDGE version providing a rugged enterprise tool to meet the needs of global customers."

With support for high-speed 3G EVDO networks based on the CDMA standard for wireless communications, the MC70 offers robust and cost-effective voice and data connectivity via relationships with Sprint and other wireless carriers. With WAN/LAN/PAN functionality the MC70 delivers cost-effective global coverage and fast wireless data speeds that enable rich applications, and enterprise level security.

The MC70 with EVDO functionality has a list price ranging from $2845 - $3195, depending on configuration, and is available immediately.
