internet connect keeps asking if I want to stay online

I have a MAC Powerbook with the PC5220 card installed...while I am working, the internet connect icon comes on everynow and then and asks if I want to stay connected...I like to use my computer for a radio, and different applications...is this normal?

Here is how to remove that

System Preferences
Network
Click on AirPrime CDMA Wireless PC Card and click the Configure button
Click PPP Options
[X]Prompt Every xx minutes to maintain connection

Uncheck that box and click OK
