I think it was turned on sunday ....I was checking a morel mushroom site and looked down and saw yellow arrows , so I hovered over bars and sure enough ...evdo rev a ....my download and upload speeds are not nearly what they should be but my ping is great ...I did a ping test and im down at 90 ms .....all of my online games run great now!!!! I figure that in a week or so everything will be worked out and my up and download speeds will be what they should.... BTW my downloads are around 400 to 450 kbps and my uploads are at around 130 to 145.....This is fine with me though , after all I am a dial up user of 8 yrs so this stuff is spectacular!!!! the speeds are about the same as they were with rev 0 but the ping time is alot better , so I'm all good with this change ......I'd say that most of ohio is REV A now so check your speeds and ping times ....I think youll be impressed..... |
Ok, great! It looks like the greatest State in the nation also has the greatest EVDO Revision A coverage. Anyway, this will be really good for the majority of Ohioins; faster speeds in a very large area of the US....now, if Alltel was to upgrade all of their eastern Ohio border EVDO to Revision A....Ahh well, Ohio's coverage is still awesome. |

| Fox ....I hear ya ...If i could roam on evdo I would have six bars and -70 signal...I got two towers within a mile of my house ....If I use 1 x rtt I get a killer signal but I cant hit the evdo so I dont like it.....Not sure who the providers are on the tower but I think one is verizon cause I have verizon cell phones and I get killer service with them at my house or anywhere around where I live....I dunno if there is an altel tower around here but I'm sure there is somewhere!!!....hopefully someday they will get a altell tower around here so i can hit that -70 roam signal but if they dont Im still very satisfied with my -95 to -100 signal and my rev A coverage....I wasnt even supposed to be able to get it by what the maps say....I tried anyway and with external antenna i get the evdo signal so alls well that ends well!!!! |

I was getting great speeds at first then last week and half, el crappo. I opened a ticket w/Sprint, tried upgrade for Connection Manager, the a miracle happened and now I am good again. Could some of this be Windows Vista auto upgrades? |

I had this same problem a month ago or so. I lost my evdo signal and it was only getting 1xrtt speeds. Then after about 2 weeks
I was playing a game and watched it switched back to evdo.Everything was great for a couple of days.
Then between 9pm-1am est I would notice a increase in latency around 1400 (this started about a week and a half ago). All of a sudden 2 nights ago I watched my in-game latency (World of Warcraft) jump to 4k at 2am.. then looked over at my phone and seen it reverted back to 1xrtt speeds. Along with this comes random and frequent disconnects.
I use a samsung a900 phone as a modem, connected through USB.
Am I just feeling the effects of this upgrade.
I live northeast of Blanchester.
edit: I forgot to mention I am unable to get evdo speeds. |
