Any info on what was updated in the march 1 PRL for datacards (40005)? Did this add Sprint roaming yet?
If so, does anybody know if Sprint EVDO now has higher priority than Alltel 1xRTT? |

Yes it adds Sprint Roaming.
Yes it Prefers EVDO over 1x.
Alltel EVDO -> Sprint EVDO -> Alltel 1x -> Sprint 1x -> Verizon 1x -> Us Cell 1x _________________ --

| Go ahead and flame the newbie here, but I've got a Kyocera Passport (KPC-650), and I'm stuck on PRL 30005. I've tried running activation in QL Mobile to no avail. How do I get the new PRL? Thanks! |

No answer yet. I hope you'll pardon me, but I have a long history with one of those other CDMA carriers (Verizon). When I heard of a new PRL with them, I just ran activation on my aircard, or *228 on a handset, and voila I got the new PRL. Doesn't seem to be this way with my Alltel aircard.
I've read that Alltel pushes out the PRLs automatically, or that you have to have your account flagged somehow to get them (or maybe that was Sprint?) I've also read somewhere that they roll out their PRL updates piecemeal somehow. Don't know how much of that is true or false. All I know is that I'm stuck on 30005, and whenever I travel out of the home area, I'm stuck with 1X roaming speeds. I was really looking forward to this update! |

| If you want the new prl now, you have to call data support and they will manually email you the file and will walk you through step by step on how to download it onto the pc card. That's how I got it. |

jcgrahs,
If you know how to install the file, you can get the latest PRL from: http://corolada.com/prl/ |

It took two calls, but I got the right person. I'll be in an area tomorrow where Sprint has EVDO but Alltel doesn't, can't wait to try it out. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction! |

To answer this it is necessary to go two different ways. 1 If you are in your normal area and they have a new prl file,it should download automatically. If you are in a roaming area, you should call alltel and they will send you a e-mail and help you get it installed into the program. There is a site that you can download the prl from but the two ways are the easier softer way. |
