I am really excited that Verizon EVDO RevA is now available here in Central California but I have a couple of questions. I would like to use a router at my business but I am not sure which one to get. I read some info on the D-Link DIR450 and also on the new Linksys WRT54G3G-ST (though no much available). I am an IT professional and my first choice would be the Linksys but I am not sure.
If I sign up with Verizon, will the PCMCIA card that they provide work with either of these two routers? I looked at the Router Comparison chart on this site but could not find enough info to make a decision. Does anyone know where I could find a comparison of these two or which one you would recommend?
Thanks for your help... |

I have had experiences with both D-Link and Linksys routers. My background is also in professional IT. I would go with the Linksys product. Well, actually I did. I own one of the Linksys WRT54G3G-ST routers and it works very well. I use the Novatel S720 card REV A series and am getting about a megabit throughput with a -86 dbm signal strength with a 3dbi gain omni directional external antenna. The combination works well.
Good luck |
