|
|
I have a Top Global MB6000 with a Kyocera KPC650 card, firmware v1.1.25.. I am currently in Westminster, CO. With a good signal (24/32), it will stay up about three minutes, then lose the connection. Re-establishing the connection takes minutes, and sometimes I get tired of waiting and reboot the router (which seems to be only slightly faster at re-establishing the connection). I noticed similar behavior in Manhattan, in the financial district.
If I do not send/receive data, it seems to stay up (but what use is this?).
Any ideas on how to improve the reliability? This is getting frustrating, because it often takes several tries just to get an email message sent.

you appear to be one of our customers. (thanks for that)
why not give our tech experts a call in the morning?
or PM me and tell me when/where its best to have them call you?
in the meantime, i'll ask this:
do you have a laptop to use the card in, without the router?
if so, are you seeing the same sort of issue? |

Hey, I am in Castle Rock, CO. I recently used a Top Global MB6000 with a KPC 650 for hours and didnt have any sort of problem. Who is your carrier? The dormancy may be where the issue lies, or its something in your card itself. _________________

|
|
First, let me say that the support folks are GREAT! John, Victor, et al...keep up the great work.
My issue is with the TopGlobal MB6000. It causes my aircard to cycle off and on. To be clear, the aircard ITSELF is powering off/on, not the MB6000. The card works flawlessly in the laptop, for example. This seems to be an MB 6000 issue. I cannot find a correlation to signal strength. However, I feel there migth be a link between heavy usage and this aircard power cycling, although I mean it may increase the frequency of the problem. The problem exists even when activity is dormant. We've done the resets, manual as well as software. Updated the firmware too. Still the problem persists. Was like this fresh out of the box a couple weeks ago. Our last resource is to replace it with another unit. Other than this, the MB6000 is GREAT! Once again, so are the support folks! Bravo Victor & John!!! Thank for your ongoing concern and patience with me and my MB6000 issue. Lets do an RMA and get this resolved.
Has anyone else had this issue? And I wonder of its cause...overheat in the router or AirCard? Card compatability (Sierra Wireless AC875 using AT&T HSDPA network)? Just my dumb luck and received a dud? =-) |

| Did this problem get resolved? I have a new M6800 that is doing something very similar, with an Option 3G Max card. I've just started working with 3GStore support myself. |

| Tech support had me do all the usual stuff...finally, they swapped it out. I had to pay shipping but the new one works flawlessly. Watch out when you send the old one in for warranty...3G waited weeks and weeks and weeks to issue me a refund. Finally, after several calls, it got done. Let me say...once your MB6000 is swapped, you'll LOVE it! |

Looks like in the notes, the delays were because the returned MB6000 had missing parts and we had extended conversations going back and forth and that had delayed your credit - BUT I am glad that all is well now. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Regarding the missing items reply....true enough, that was indeed the claim from someone there. But please know that not one single item was kept on this end. It was returned in the precise condition in which it was received. The fact is, I was told the credit would be issued. Weeks later it still had not been. So I was told it would be made within 24 hours. Weeks later still, it had not been. And so, my point is, that even though the techs I spoke with were extremely nice & helpful, lets not downplay the utter failure to execute the credit as stated. I know factually that this item was repackaged so well that it could have easily been resold....other than the fact that it didn't work properly. So, for some unknown person, checking boxes, to claim that the "dust boot" was missing was very odd. And even if so, who would keep a .01 cent rubber boot? No one called to advise me otherwise either, for example, to say that there was a problem. My advice SOLIDLY remains, if you return something to 3G, or to a lesser degree any store for that matter, you'd be well advised to follow up and not take them at their word when they say a credit will be issued. Keep checking and make sure it actually happens or else your $250 credit might get held up for WEEKS and WEEKS, and without notice, over a .01 cent dust boot issue. Lets not make this sound any better or worse than it was....this is just exactly what happened. But in the end, all is well and the MB600 in specific is a GREAT, amazingly versatile product! Plus, the prices at 3G are reasonable and the tech support guys wonderful. The person who clandestinely refuses to issue credit, without notice, over a dust boot question, however, should be drawing unemployment compensation and playing PS3. =-/ |
