bleeding edge dir-450

Don't ask why, but I'm trying a dir-450 with 3G cards that are not on the supported products list. Could it be because my local providers don't carry any of the supported cards anymore? Hmm. Yes it could. (thanks to all those that have gone before me, since I'm new here)

Presently I have certified that the Verizon PC5750 will not work with rev 1.1 of the router. I have also certified that the Cingular (Sierra) 875 doesn't work with that set either.

One curious sidebar, the Cingular card is over twice as fast as the Verizon card. The Verizon rep assured me this would not be the case. Raspberries for Verizon. Razz

And it costs more.

So V card goes back, Cingular card goes back, and round two: calls to both regional HQ's to obtain product that actually works. My company is planning on purchasing a lot of these, so I need to get this working correctly soon. Talking to Sprint tomorrow.

If there are any really wizard folks out there that got these working, please let me know how; I'd rather use the new hardware than the old.
