hi, thanks for the chance to find out what is going on with my EVDO connection.

using a U720 with the latest updates and Sprint......if i click on EVDO only in the settings mode.....i get great signal strength when you place the cursor over the strength icon, it shows better numbers than when in the 1xRTT network but it never connects? it shows that it's receiving and sending in the drop down box but never connects, just says connecting? in the device info & diagnostics, it shows it is connected to a EVDO Rev A network with the green check mark.

when in the auto settings mode, it always connects to a 1xRTT network.....the help wizard says it always tries to connect to a EVDO network first. when connected to the 1xRTT network, placing the cursor over the signal strength shows the RTT much stronger than EVDO. the device info & diagnostics shows that a EVDO network is not available as it has a yield sign beside the Network Service ?

can anyone tell me how to obtain the EVDO Rev A connection? or am i getting a false reading when it is trying to connect to one in the EVDO mode..........

thanks for any help! jde

You can lock the card to EVDO only. Under settings, go to the Sprint PCS Vision window. In there you can set it to Autmoatic, 1xRTTonly or EVDO only. Set to EVDO and you should be locking it in. What is your signal strength (read in -dbm's)

if i lock it in EVDO only...it never connects.....just displays...connecting. while doing so, if you place the cursor over the signal it is usually 80 and less, all bars showing. and it says in the device info & diagnostics that it is connected to a EVDO REV A network?

make sense? thanks, jde

I would call Sprint to make sure your account has been provisioned properly. Sometimes it doesnt get done right and will cause issues.
