I noticed that Alltel is now selling the UT Starcom PC5750 data card. I can''t seem to find out if it is Rev A capable out of the box. I've read somewhere that, for Alltel anyway, it will be upgradeable to Rev A via a firmware update. Anybody have any reliable info on this? Of course, Alltel doesn't seem to be in a huge hurry to roll out Rev A anyway so it may well be a moot point. At least I haven't heard anything about their plans for upgrading to Rev A. It'll be nice though, since their EVDO roaming agreement with Sprint went into effect today, if this card will support Rev A then we can use it on Sprint's network? I hope!

I know that, as of 02/22/07, VZW's version of this card did not work with the KR1. http://www.evdoforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=4863&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

Have there been any further developments? Has the Alltel version been tested with the KR1? Or is there any difference in them that would casue one to work with the KR1 and the other not to work?

I am waiting for this so that I can dump the PPC6700 for my mac. I am hoping that Alltel goes with the USB720 since that should work with the mac. I don't think Alltel has sold novatel cards before so I don't know what USB card they are going to ship and my Alltel rep told me the she didn't know which card it would be just that it should be out this month. I told her that if the card was released by the 15th I was most likely going to Sprint and roam for a while until sprint finished it's DO rollout in my area.
