I'm considering switching from Nextel to Sprint. Which EVDO-capable phone do you recommend?
Thanks in advance for your insight.

You'll need to be specific on what you are looking to do. Do you want a PDA, or instant e-mail? Do you want to be able to tether to a computer?
I can almost bet that everyone here has a personal favorite, and will be more than willing to tell you exactly what phone to buy. |

I'm interested in the phone having Bluetooth, GPS, video, external memory and being able to tether as a broadband modem via Bluetooth to my Mac Powerbook G4.
Thanks again for the help.

I think Sprint has a couple BlueTooth 2.0 phones now (m610 if I recall), which doesn't cap to 400Kbps as BT 1.1 does. Don't know if they have GPS navigation too though. You'd also have to get a BT 2.0 dongle for Mac though as I don't know if any Macs do BT 2.0 built in.
Great sites for detailed phone help are www.howardforums.com or www.sprintusers.com. |

I've had a 6700 from print for a few years now(*i had to get it as soon as it hit the market)
It does everything you want.
As for the GPS nav I installed tomtom on mine and it works very well. (www.tomtom.com)
You can do a DUN connection either via bluetooth or USB modem to tether to the laptop.
You can get up to 4 gb miniSD cards and i've ripped DVDs into a size and format that plays nicely on the PPC.
I believe i'm upgrading to the treo 700wx next month though, it's a smaller screen but one hand operation is much easier! |

I see you are doing the same thing I want to do. You wouldn't happen to have any instruction on setting it up, would you. I have no EVDO connection capability right now. I have a 6700, I have the power plan. but when I manually setup a sprint evdo connection using #777, after it tries to connect it tells me no modem at this number. Any help would be appreciated. I am going out of town 30 mar and need EVDO |
