I am using my Razr to connect to my laptop for evdo internet service. But after a few minutes if I am looking at a web page the phone says dormant and the web pages will not load. What does this mean and how do i fix it?

My Razor does the same thing but it goes right back to working when I request another page. I have friend who uses an 815 and his goes right back to working as well. Does it it do it on 1x or EVDO? We only have 1x where we live. Are you using Motorola phone tools or the Alltel software? Have you upgraded your PRL by dialing *228? You software may have time settings. Good Luck.

Well, I don't use either one. I just loaded the Razr usb modem drivers and set up a dial up connection. I just went to alltel today and got them to update the software for my Razr V3c. Oh well I will see if it helps. I am on the evdo connection. I tried using the evdo dormant killer, but it does not work anymore it says the website is down.

I am using a Razr connected to my laptop for access and it goes to dormant but wakes up as soon as data needs to be sent or received. This happens all of the time when I'm on line, without any problem.
I am on EVDO.

I do have a problem connecting sometimes and have to disconnect the phone, close Alltel's connection software. Then reconnect and reopen the software to be able to connect. But it always works perfect after connected.

bysoft is a free license! The stay alive pro has been in the computer for about2-3 months and i have used it even on my 'home' tower. I have had high and even ignore moves with the KPC-650 and It just goes dormant and it starts going lazy on me. I had to shut down and restart the internet connection so, come to the rescue stay alive pro. The site link was found on this site and I have had great results. Capt.Dan

I was going to try the program, but found that in the license agreement that it was for a 30 day usage only. After that you must purchase the program or delete it from your computer.

It sounds like a nice program that would help get a faster response at times.

I thought that maybe you had had it long enough that you were required to purchase it and I wondered how much it cost.

you could always just use "ping google.com -t" to keep alive, that is what I do and it works great.

Ok,
I just got rid of my razor and got a krzr. I hooked my phone up via usb to my computer. I connect to evdo internet using a dial up connection dialing #777. I will be connected for about maybe 15-20 minutes, then when I try to go to another page or keep watching a youtube video, the page goes blank and the phone says dormant. I disconnect the the internet and when I go to reconnect, the computers states that there is a failure in the modem. If I unplug the usb cable from the krzr then replug it back in, and connect to the internet, I will show that I am connected, but nothing happens when I try to go to anything on the internet. The only way to fix the issue "sometimes" is to completely turn off the phone and turn it back on. Does anyone know anything about this or how to fix it. I just got the phone today from alltel, so it should be up to date. someone mentioned using alltels software to connect, does anyone have this so I may try it to see if it helps?

I ran into this modem failure error for a couple of days last weekend. Problem resolved when I reseated the battery on my M e815.

This was at the suggestion of Alltel Data Services Tech. He said the other option was to use a different phone.

Hope this helps.
