Novatel has announced a new ExpressCard to USB Adapter. Read about it at:

The Merlin XUA-1 are NOT YET available, but as soon as they are, we will report here.

That's a really cool idea. Hopefully it'll be cheap.

I have a MacBook Pro w/express card slot. My wife has the MacBook with no express card slot. This way, I could use the card in my book when I need it and she could use it with the adapter when she needs it. Might push me to finally get an evdo card.

I use the Merlin V640 Express Card in my Dell Inspiron E1505 Notebook to access Verizon Broadband. Is this what I will need to use the Express Card in my desktop PC as well? The Verizon Aircard in my notebook is my only intenet access.

I became painfully aware that I need to enable internet access on my desktop when lightning took out the power transformer on the notebook last week. It took Dell a week to get the replacement to me. During that time I was out of business on the internet.

Tell Novatel it's a tease to announce a product that is not available.

bstarr, we sell an adapter that would allow you to use the v640 in a KR1 Router. with that combination, both your E1505 and your desktop could share the connection, at the same time.

You can buy the adapter, here:
ExpressCard to PCMCIA Adapter

You can get the router, here:
Kyocera KR1 EVDO Router

note: the adapters are in short supply. backorders happen a lot.

I work in San Diego about 15 miles from the Nexaira/Novatel offices and was able to order one from them and pick it up the same day. It works great on my wife's iBook, my work Dell Latitude laptop and my MacBook Pro. Very Happy

Does this mean it is available? Does 3Gstore stock it yet? I would like to get one.

Thanks

I don't know why this thing is so hard to find. It's seems to be released, as I found one on Ebay - search for XUA-1 - there's one that ends on Sunday.

Hi Hill,

Did you buy one? How is it working for you? Do you use a Mac or Windows machine?

Thanks
