This thread will discuss the compatibility with the Kyocera KR1 and the Audiovox PC5750 .
At this point, assume the PC5750 does not work.
It may, if it uses exactly the same drivers as the PC5740. We will know more after we get a PC5750 to test.

The Kyocera KR1 (running RK1008) and the PC5750 DO NOT work with one another.
More on other routers and other info we have discovered to be posted throughout the day and on our web sites. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

|
|
Hi,
Has anyone actually paired these devices successfully yet? I'm looking to purchase a KR1, but don't want to do so if it won't work with my PC5750. I've looked at a number of web pages and get conflicting information about the compatibility. The Kyocera firmware update page specifically does not mention the PC5750. I spoke with Kyocera/Dlink tech support and they said it would NOT work. They also said that support will not be added because this card is discontinued. I find this hard to believe as Verizon touts it as "new" and is currently selling them.
Anyone get this to work???
Thanks Much!

| I have had no success with the 5750 and the KR1. It will connect, and at good speeds, but it invariably drops the call after just a few minutes. I've had no luck in resolving the issue. |

I would like to know the outcome of this thread. I am in a rural area and the evdo card works great when connected to my work laptop. But I refuse to pay for two provider services so I need a inhouse solution that allows / accepts the pc 5750 and at least a wired laptop and wired desktop.
One udder must have, it needs to support VPN especially the Nortel VPN client.
Anyone ?
The only othe solution I can think of is to pick up a PCI / PCMCIA adapter for the desktop and swap back and forth.
Terrible solution that would be .. . _________________ Regards |

no need to go further. the KR1 does not support VPN.
for pc5750 and vpn, go with linksys, or mb6000 or mb6800 |
