Hello to all,
I have just today purchased a SPRINT / NOVATEL U720 modem and set it up with the driver so graciously provided by user "Mac.Intosh". Thank you for your work in this regard. The set-up TOTALLY SMOKES!! I am a former AT&T Edge card user who be-moaned the fact that Wireless Broadband was not supported for MACS! This is no longer true!! All MAC users can go wireless Broadband now with confidence if they want to. Yes, it's best if the card is initially set-up and authorized with a PC but once you've got the MAC software installed, you are ready to rock. One Note: -- after you re-boot the MAC with the U720 drivers installed, you definitely need to un-plug the modem and then re-insert it for the machine to "find" the modem for the first time. Leaving it in during the re-boot didn't work the first few times I tried it. But once it recognized the unit and I completed the configuration it's the TOTAL BOMB!! WooHoo!!! Have fun - everyone!!!

|

I have just spent the morning trying to see if I can get the SPRINT NOVATEL U720 to work with my other MAC's and have been entirely successful ! All the machines I've set up and tested are running MAC OS-X 10.4.8 and the modem has worked fine. I've tested a four year old iMAC 20" w/ a 1.25 GHZ PowerPC G4 processor as well as an 8 year old iMAC DV with a 500MHz PowerPC G3 processor. While there are processor speed differences, it appears the card works identically well in all machines. "Speedtest.net" demonstrated download speeds in excess of 1.2 MBits / sec and upload speeds in excess of 250 KBits / sec.
This product and the shareware software are the real deal.
