Robert Kim of E V D O - C O V E R A G E . C O M or TelePotence or zazzah or imacs2369
He is the reason why I started EVDOinfo.com. There were a lot of wild EVDO claims on his web site, stuff that was just plain lies.[/qoute]
Micheal, Thank you so much for this site. I ran across this scammer today looking for a new battery for my phone (searched on Google). It peaked my interest, but I didn't buy the lines - it just didn't seem right, and the price, nearly $600! That is the cost of the phone for crying out loud!
Anyway I started to try and find out more information, as I figured if this was real, someone else would have to be talking about it too. I found your site. Searching the posts, I have learned a lot. (Thanks posters!) But more important the info I needed, that evdo-coverage.com (ADMIN:dishonest evdo vendor) is a scam, I found. I don't normally join these groups, but felt obligated. I will do what I can to promote your web site.
Thanks, Micheal. We need more truth tellers out there. More truth, less BS. |

Glad you found these forums
At least in his latest scam, he is up front, that he will take your money and he will not ship you anything. Also, there is no such things as a SuperCharged KPC650. We offer free tips on our EVDOinfo.com & EVDOforums.com, so don't waste your money.
| Quote: | Well, it's like this, We at evdo-coverage.com (ADMIN:dishonest evdo vendor) just got an offer from a major distributor for Kyocera. They are offering us 100 New KR1 Router s for $199 ea. Sweet deal.
So, you can take the $199 kyocera router and run. Or if you sign up for a 1 year Verizon Wireless EVDO Service agreement, We'll also toss in a $349 SuperCharged System KPC650.
This means that you'll either spend $199 on a $649 system ($299msrp kyocera kr1 + $349 kpc650sc) or if you already have a kpc650, $199 on a $299msrp kr1.
Note that we are going to wait until we get 120 commitments before we spend $19,900. So first come first serve. If less than 20 of you Digg users flake-out, then the first 100 will get shipment and the rest of you will just have to wait until we get another 100 commitments. Ummm.... unless we can get the distributor to fill any number between 100-120 (pretty likely). |

Now, he is selling a $499 SuperCharged EVDO v640 and Lightning Rod Bundle Set
This "Bundle" includes the:
- V640
- "detailed configuration instructions"
- Lightning Rod 3bar Booster Antenna
Venturi Compression is included free (Windows), and there are SuperCharged tips posted up here on EVDOforums (for free).
A few other things from this page:
| Quote: | | As an authorized but INDEPENDENT store |
Authorized by who? I don't count being fired, losing your authorization, as being authorized.
Here is my favorite lie:
| Quote: | | with the SuperCharged EVDO Systemtm, we guarantee you 2000kbps. |
See this thread on SuperCharged EVDO
Tip... There is a reason why stock cards show benchmarks from DSLreports.com (accurate results) and the "SuperCharged" ones benchmark from Toast.net. By installing Venturi and using a different test server, you can make things "appear" better - when they are not. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I just did a google of evdo.
There were at least two, possibly more links to Bobbie's site on the first page. Including the top link.
You guys were down at the bottom.
The con is winning.
How come no one has taken the guy to criminal court ? |

Wish I would have found this before I took the shaft. $900 for nothing. I wound up not needing the setup later, but it was hard to swallow. I thought I did my research, but didn't sort out the difference between the two sites.
Makes one a little tentative. We live in a rural area with no broadband except satellite and Sprint claims to have wireless service. Hughes has become intolerable and so is dial up. I'm getting ready to go with the Sprint wireless service and the Pantech card. I know we won't get the service it's capable of but it's the best option.
Anyone need and MB6000? |

Sorry you didn't find us sooner...
Let us know how Robert Kim screwed you and what stuff he had you purchase.
If you purchased Verizon or Sprint, make sure that the account is in YOUR name not his.
Let us know your zip code of where you will be using and we can do a coverage check - better to have the complete address, as we can do a coverage check based on your address.
It might be better to send personal info via email INSTEAD of posting publicly on EVDOforums (not a good idea to post your address up here). Just send an email to sales at 3gstore.com
Yes, there is a BIG difference between Kim's scam web sites and ours. Hopefully, you have been reading up. Also, if you paid via credit card, you of course always have options to "charge back". Contact us via email and we may be able to give you some advice dealing with the mess. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

What I bought was a Kyocera KPC650, MB6000, Lightening Rod Antenna, and a Prime Signal Cellular Phone Repeater. If I would have received any support it might not have been as bad. I discussed my situation with him and knew upfront things were going to be tenuous in certain situations.
The MB6000 wouldn't stay connected at all. It kept dropping my lan as well as the wan. I couldn't even keep it going long enough to update the firmware. The lightening rod antenna was not what I requested as I needed an external antenna. The first repeater didn't work. The only support I got was after numerous calls and it was on the repeater only, I was promised a new one would be shipped next day courier. When that didn't occur, I located the phone number for the supplier and called them myself. Two or three phone calls later I finally managed to explain, to someone I couldn't understand and who didn't comprehend what I was trying to explain, what the deal was. This was after being told I didn't hook it up right, and only 1% of the repeaters were bad out of the factory.
After receiving the second repeater, I managed to get the indoor antenna mounted on my outdoor pole and without using the repeater managed a connection. Granted I was trying to stretch the signal about 20 miles, I'm an oilfield Geologist and was using the services on location, so I would have been happy with just a consistent slow connection. NOT.
I was more upset with the lack of assistance. After the first few calls and emails no one would return my calls or my emails. The only fortunate thing for me was Verizon cancelled the service. I was working 4 jobs at once and building three new computers. Seems I downloaded to much for them in one month, they said I must have been streaming video. I didn't get hung with the contract, just $900 worth of equipment.
If you stop to think about it, P T Barnum was right and if it sounds to good to be true it usually is. However, others need to be informed of the dangers. I think the thing that bothers me the most is the use of a trap by a business man that's used by phishers and the like. Making yourself look like your someone your not and what makes me more upset than anything else is "I fell for this one". |

A friend of mine from the Chicago area almost got snared by Kim a couple weeks ago. Lucky for him he called me for advice. I sent him here. Needless to say, he was pleased with my advice and evdoinfo/3gstore.

Ok, I admit it, I should have done more research! Damn!
Anyway, I spent $700 on a Lightning Rod & MB6000, never even got the Lightning Rod! The router wouldn't connect to AllTel! Kim won't answer my calls or emails. I returned the router to his CA address, turns out he's moved to Orem, UT. Called his 1606 number from a friends phone and got through. Spoke to Kim and got the new address. Called UPS and rerouted the package. We'll see if it's a real address or not! At this point it's Grand Theft and possibly interstate flight to avoid prosecution, so I will be reporting him to the LAPD and the FBI and the Orem, Ut police.
We NEED to STOP THIS GUY!! Anyone else willing to press charges post a new post and I'll contact you. remember anything over $250.00 is Grand Theft. If he moved across state lines to avoid prosecution, we can get him there as well. The more charges, the more the FBI will be interested in pursuing him. Anyone seen or have a picture of him?
There are hundreds of posts in this site, let's get the bastard! _________________ Eagleman |

Here is not only a picture, but a movie of him.
Grab it before he removes it:

If you recently got screwed, be sure to return via FedEx/UPS with signature required and then dispute charges with your credit card company.
Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |
