Michael - to add to your observations about Robert Kim's website. I posted some replies to his ridiculous claims.
He deleted my posts!!!!!!
Looking at all his threads, there are few if any replies to posts in all his forums! I'll bet he spends all day deleting replies.
What a charlatan! |

I just got off the phone with someone who found this thread.
Hopefully, he will post his story soon.
It goes way beyond lying and cheating, but it is criminal. Hopefully, everyone can read about it soon, and more people who have been screwed will post their stories and more importantly we can help people from getting taking advantage of.
Another phone call, from someone who ordered something and never got it. PLEASE, help others, register to EVDOforums and post your story - you can help others from making the same mistakes _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I remembered a strange voice mail that I received last April 7 from Robert Kim, here is a portion of it:
Robert Kim 4/7/2005 Voice Mail
Basically, he was thanking us for keeping quiet about what he does and not posting anything about him on EVDOforums. I am so glad this Robert Kim thread was started. Over the last few days, I have received phone calls from 3 different people telling me their Robert Kim stories (some are incredible - but they all have the same tone and same sad outcome). Hopefully, they will find the time to share them here. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I was in contact with Robert Kim late last year and almost purchased my EVDO cards from him, but his web site was a huge turn off, it just smelled of inaccurate information., but more imporantly, something just didn't feel right. The sad thing, is many poeple researching, find his site and think, his site is the place to get EVDO. Hopefully good will prevail and over time, the good ones will win out. Anyone searching on EVDO on MSN, will find EVDOinfo & EVDOforums all over the first page. Under Yahoo, EVDOforums shows up #2, now we just have to have Google get a GoogleTrust or Google Lie Detector and we will all be set.
Anyways, my favorite reference is at Gizmodo who is talking about Robert Kim's web site:
| Quote: | | So the people who run this page look shady, at best—“Our EVDO Router was developed by several Computer Science PhD’s holding the original 3G Router Patents.”—but the concept of the router isn’t far off from the StompBox we talked about earlier. The question is: since I don’t think these douches actually developed this box—“Not to Be Used as a For Profit WIFI Hotspot”—does anyone know who actually makes this $1k+ router for people that might be interested in sharing an EVDO connection over Wi-Fi, but don’t have the time/chutzpah to build their own? |

I am SO glad that I found this forum.
I bought a $1000 router from Robert Kim 3 months ago, I still haven't received it and he is no longer calling me back. I found his web site because he is #1 in Google when you type EVDO, I really hope others finnd this site and message before they pay this con man a penny.
Hey admin running this site, thanks and I am contacting you privately, as I may be able to help you (I always like it when good beats evil). |

I found this thread on the search engines and I feel like I can tell my story and help others.
I purchased a SuperCharged PC5220 from Robert Kim a few months back. His web site had some incredible claims. It sounded too good to be true and it was. His assistant named Angela, sent me an email with directions, but the directions were confusing and didn't work (By the way, most of the directions are presented here for free on your different web sites -thanks). So I ended up calling to Verizon tech support, who provided excellent service and got me on line. So when I needed alive support may be for 5 minutes, Kim is nowhere to be found.
I told them to call me (a few months ago) to get this all working, or I was going to send it back, still within the 15 day trial. He never called. I sent it back. To make a long story short, he only refunded half of my $625 that I paid him (via PayPal). The second half was promised to be sent via check but never sent.
I finall called the company that shipped it to me (it didn't come from Robert Kim), and THEY were most helpful and finally did refund my money. They also told me, that Robert Kim was a "sub-agent" for them and because they were getting so many complaints, they fired him. When I just checked his web site, it still says he is an Verizon Agent - so maybe that is a lie too?
You have wonderfull site, thanks for great public service. |

I just wanted to post some additional information for anyone trying to get their money back from Robert Kim. On his 100's of web sites, you will find the following phone numbers, most go to a voice mail, nobody answers:
310-862-4250
206-984-0880
832-213-1924
302-372-6906
310-995-1332
However, on caller id, he once called and this number that showed up:
619-994-5305
Hopefully, this will help someone who is trying to get in touch with him.
Seems like Robert Kim is also into Super Charging DVD Vending Machines |

VERIZON EVDO!!
Wow - you call his phone and he asks you to leave message by calling another phone and even then he says it may take up to a week to get back to you. Customer Service Rocks!!!
PS: I see Yahoo goes to his site when I search for VERIZON EVDO - please use the terms VERIZON EVDO as much as possible in your posts to get a better ranking to the really informative sites [that do not loot innocent folks] |

Michael - you are dead wrong!! Robert Kim is into *everything*. Why do I say that? Because here is what I read written by him:
"I am studying an ancient kung fu. My grand master has done many supposedly supernatural things. "
That supernatural thing is that his grandpa made his grandson get into everything .
PS: Now all those who say VERIZON EVDO cannot do more than a allowed limit should be satisfied - with supernatural everything is possible |

Is it right to make fun of your competitor for your personal gain ?
Has anyone downloaded the dormant killer from evdoinfo ?
Do you know what it does ? Everyone who has the program running is helping evdoinfo to gain traffic. Ask Mike how he did it.

Making fun? Information, very useful information, has been posted. By many people.

Umm...increasing hits is a common internet business practice. You get the app for free. It doesn't sneak onto your computer.

Bob,
A few corrections. You may see me as your competitor, I do not see you as one of ours. We are attempting to do different things to people. I started EVDOinfo.com because I couldn't believe that crap you had on your web site. Anyone that was typing in Verizon EVDO or Verizon BroadbandAccess would find a bunch of lies or completely misleading information. When I started EVDOinfo.com last year, it was a simple one page web site that told people the truth about what they could do with Verizon EVDO and what they couldn't do with Verizon EVDO. I wasn't selling booster antennas, I wasn't an authorized Verizon Agent - it was a site to educated people, and guess what, I didn't make a single penny, that was not the motivation. I was contacted by the vendors you did business with, they liked what I was trying to do with Verizon EVDO and asked me to help them.
I am not making fun of you, I really don't think you need any outside help in that department.
PLEASE explain to me how you think the dormant killer app helps gain rankings? I will tell you what it does do:
- cost me money to develop
- cost me money with the tons of extra traffic it creates (thousands of people have downloaded).
- We give it away for free
The only extra traffic is the good will that it creates. You must think somehow, that the dormant killer someone how helps our rankings at http://www.alexa.com ? According to Alexa, both EVDOinfo.com and EVDOforums.com show that each of those sites get 3X more traffic then yours. There is one reason for that. Once, someone finds our sites, they do more than look at the first page and leave, they find useful information and hang around.
FYI...
Technically, the dormant killer connects to a completely different domain name, I did this, so I could easily move it to a different server in the future.
Oh yeah, here is the BIGGEST difference between Bob and Mike. Bob, is on the phone and he is telling people to go to our web site to get EVDO information and downloads (and implying that OUR web sites are HIS). We would NEVER direct people to your web site (except maybe in this thread). _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

I ordered a lightening rod antenna EVDO booster antenna weeks ago from the guy mentioned in this thread. I was promised overnight delivery. I paid via PayPal. I never got it. I am very upset. I contacted the people that run evdoforums (I was told that they were all the same company when I ordered - little did I know), and they were very helpful, however, I didn't order it from them, so there wasn't much they can do, except feel my pain and turn me to this thread.
Next time, I will do my research, and when a product "sounds to good to be true", it usually is.
I guess I will contact PayPal now and dispute the charges. |

Wow! I found Robert Kim's sight. I wanted to find out about the speedbooster for my Earthlink Aircard 555. He said it was old technology but believed he could Increase speed to 200kbs. The slowest my card runs now is 82kbs but averages around 275- 300 kbs in speedtest! Max speed was sapposed to be 144kbs! He gave it to me for free, but I am sapposed to send him $100. My ping averages around 300ms. I'm actually Impressed.
I wanted to tell you all about it. Didnt know about this thread till now. I figured he was a bit shady charging $275 for a booster you guys charge $69.00 for. But his speedbooster program is phenominal. I know you all want to castrate him but I gotta tell ya I'm hell o impressed with his tweak. _________________ Mobile Gamer |
