Can anyone tell me the exact name of the driver files for the Sprint U720? I was having some issues with an installation and the drivers were not installing automatically off of the CD. When I manually searched for the driver down to the C:\Program Files\Novatel\Sprint\ area there were multiple drivers and I don't know which to choose. Can anyone point me to the appropriate post or share some knowledge with me on which files to choose. I currently have three question marks on my device manager, one for the modem, one for the multi-function adapter, and one for the port.
Thanks, Charles |

The biggest thing we need to know is what "OS" you have like Windows XP, Vista, Windows ME. That is also the reason there is multiple drivers in that file. The "OS" on the computer that is using the U720 is the driver your going to want to use. In Windows XP you could go to Start then Control Panel, then System. Click the Hardware tab, then click the Device Manager. Click on the modem that has the question mark. It will probally have a another drop down that says the name of the modem. Double click it, then click on the driver tab. A couple more tabs show up. Click the update driver. Now a hardwear update wizard comes up. You can keep the one checked "automaticlly install" first if you want. Make sure your CD that came with the modem is in the CD/DVD drive. Click next. This should install the right driver for you. Hope this helps. |

| well...It would be Windows XP, and that is the problem, is that the automatic option isn't working, the hardware update wizard cannot locate the drivers that are on the CD, and I'm trying to navigate down to the folder where the driver is installed, and actually I was helping someone else do this, so I'm not actually seeing what is on there screen because they are in a completely different state than I am. |
