Hi all.

I recently purchased a Treo 700p. I have set-up the phone, computer and VZW services (including unlimited Broadband as well as DUN) so that I can 'tether' the phone to my MacBook Pro (OSX 10.2.8 ) for EVDO access, but I have some problems with this set-up. Namely,
    1. The connection frequently disconnects for no apparent reason.
    2. Sometimes after a sudden disconnect, the modem status in the menu bar shows 'Disconnecting' and the phone remains tethered via Bluetooth to the MacBook Pro, even though the phone is no longer connected to VZW. I have to turn Bluetooth off to untether, but I have to restart the computer to get the 'Disconnecting' message to disappear.

FWIW, I set-up the system for EVDO access using Jason O'Grady's instructions and also these instructions.

Any ideas on how to troubleshoot and fix these problems?

Thanks.
David

The thread you mentioned is all about using a hack to make the 700p work without paying the extra $15/month for Verizon DUN. My company is paying the $15/month so why should I need the hack?

I am hesitant to install a so-called hack, especially if it isn't necessary (as the thread indicates). It should work as per all of the instructions I mentioned in my original post, but the problems remain.
