|

Apologies if this has been asked before but I couldn't find an AllTel specific answer. I've no DSL or Cable where I live. I'm running a KPC-650 in my desktop through a no-name PCMCIA to PCI controller card. Works great on XP. Thinking of upgrading to Vista when it comes out. Anyone know if the AllTel Quicklink Mobile + KPC650 is Vista compatible (and supported).
Thanks! |

Well - I am going to answer my own question for anyone else who is interested.
The KPC-650 drivers can only be installed after installing QuickLink mobile and pointing windows at its 'drivers' directory. (not using the driver install EXE).
Good news: When configured as a dial up modem to #777 it works just fine.
Bad news: Quicklink mobile doesn't see the card under Vista. I debugged and it queries the modem port but not the Kyocera control port. So no signal strength indicator. I tried the Verizon s/w too with the same results. The Verison website says Vista compatibility is coming for their Quicklink Mobile version in March, so AllTel won't be far behind I suppose.... |
