Need to lock on adjacent alltel network, local 1x tanked

I have been on the Mansfield Ohio network (SID=130) since Aug '06 and as of Jan 1, 2007 the network (1x) is nearly un-usable. Alltel techs indicate they are aware and working on it. I am on the border of the
130 sid and the 54 sid (Akron). Does anyone know how I might force card
to 54 network? I tried reactivation with SID=54, after connect I get roam
indicator but when I examine current 'field test' info, still indicates sid=130.

Using:
KPC650
amp amp
wilson trucker antenna
RSSI ~ 70
Full signal strength on 130 tower.

(paying visit to local sprint store at lunch)

I don't know of a way to make an air card lock to a sid, but when you set the sid in activation, that is for roam indicator purposes...and when you go into test mode, it will show you what sid you are on. So, you program it to a different sid, but you are still pulling from your normal sid, and that's why your roam indicator flashes.
