U720 won't reconnect

I am using the U720 with a mobile XP computer and have NDIS mode set because the computer boots when the ignition switch is turned on. Also we are trying to make the PC as turn key as possible for the truck driver.

Sometimes the card disconnects even though it displays a full stick of stripes. When it does it will not reconnect even if I click Go. I killed and restarted connection manager but it then complained that the modem was in use. I disconnected and re-connected the USB connector at the unit and then connection manager said to install the card. It came up fine and ran OK. The browser complained that the page was not available off line and clicking connect caused it to load OK.

What is also bothersome is the fact that although it is in NDIS mode the dial-up connection page pops up occassionally, and letting it dial does re-store the connection.

It reports that I have the latest software.

Would appreciate any insights or suggestions.

I would disable NDIS unless your also using wi-fi. If you are using wi-fi I would write a script that choose between the two, and then connect using the connection node.
