I have tried both cards in a compaq EVO n1020v with the lastest BIOS, drivers. As soon as I put the card in to deteced the laptop locks up. Sierra tech support has been no help at all.

Well as soon as I posted here I found where someone was having the same problem with a belkin card, and this was posted by a user to try.

1.Go to control panel
2.Click on system
3.Click on Hardware
4.Click on Device Manager
5.Click on + on bateries to expand fields
6.Click with left buton to mark it on Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
7.Click on right buton on your mouse and click disable
8.Put your PCMCIA wifi card instal all drivers and everthyng is ok
9.When you finish you can enable Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery

Just wanted to post in case it works with a different laptop, it worked with the Sierra 595 card.

I changed the title of the thread - since it appears to work now.
