Anyone have any recommendations on th feasibility of streaming video upstream over an EVDO network?
How much bandwidth is realistically available for this? How reliable would the availability of such bandwidth be?
How much will this change/improve in the future? |

We did a little EVDO 2 way video chat, and it worked OK.
You only will get 60K - 110K on the upstream which really isn't enough bandwidth, but it depends on your application.
EVDO Rev A (search on it here or EVDOinfo.com) will increase the upstream from a maximum of 144K to 1.8mb, so you will have enough bandwidth to technically do it without a problem. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Michael,
Thank you. I will research Rev A as you recommended.
Best,

EVDO Rev A isn't going to be out any time this year. It may start next year, but may take some time to fully deploy. I would guess that we are a minimum of 2 years out for full deployment. However, some cities might be part of a trial and or start testing it next year sometime.
Also, there are not any cards available today that support EVDO Rev A. Today, we are at EVDO Rev 0 _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

Hi Michael,
That is very helpful. We can start by using Rev 0 for our application and plan a migration to Rev A in the future.
Best,
John |
