Hello all, I have an x60 tablet with this card inside.

1. Can I upgrade the firware on this card to utilize rev a?

2. If not how hard would it be to crack open the case of my x60 and install a Sierra Wireless 5725 that will be rev a capable?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

I've never dealt with the X60t before, but accessing the mini-PCI/PCIe sockets is easy with my T42 and an X60 I've worked with.

The difficult is not so much the physical replacement, but the difficulty in finding the part and paying for it--I believe IBM WWAN FRUs (IBM's terminology) run $300+.

Thank you. I thought I would never get a straight forward answer to this question. Lenovo said "well I think the card that is in there will work after you install vista". Yeah...thanks lenovo! Real crack team of experts they have working in sales.
Thanks again.
