Verizon does a credit check on you individually OR your business.
IF you do not have any credit, they may still offer you service, however, you may need to put a $500 deposit down on the account in order to get approved. This ALSO may happen for a brand new business trying to get service under their business name (for anyone starting a new business, it is best to apply under a personal account - so you do not have this issue).

I ordered service to my NYC accomodation address via that competeing EVDO website that we're all familiar with. I don't remember a DL requirement. Mine is from out of state in any case. I did supply an SSN but our correspondent will have a (not for work) SSN if he's in on a student visa.
No problems with my order. |

Here is the scoop.
Most authorized Verizon agents can only sell in their local area codes ( e.g. you do not get asked what area code you want). When processing that way, a drivers license is not required. However, there is a slim chance, if Verizon Credit sees you have a drivers license and your credit is not good, they may ask you to verify your drivers license.
Most authorized Verizon agents are NOT approved to sell nationally. Selling nationally, you can get your data card with any area code. This national processing can take an extra 24 hours to process AND does require a drivers license to process (local and national processing are actually 2 different systems).
We can process either locally or nationally. When processing locally you will get an area code in the 858 region (San Diego). When processing nationally, you pick your area code.
Important note... You cannot dial your data card from a phone number. The only reason to have a local area code, is if you pay to have the optional text messaging feature (v620, kpc650, ac580 support text messaging).

That is not what it says. Your Bill To address MUST match the address where your credit card statement is sent. You can specify any ship to address. We do that ALL the time (e.g. someone at a hotel who needs a booster antenna quick).
Just setup your ship to address to be the place you want it shipped AND your bill to to the same address as your credit card statement.
It actually did state that, I corrected the syntax, to say BILL TO, thanks for letting me know!
Also, the drivers license field is now optional when ordering data cards
