Novatel SDK packs.
I do not know exactly to whom these are available, how much they cost nor how much experience is needed to work with them. But those interested in GPS might notice that they have a module for working with GPS.
Check it out if you are interested and maybe post a thread about it. |

If you are referring to my post from last night that I deleted it is because I found that I was wrong. The post I had referred to was concerning MS S&T not Google Earth. It was my mistake. I deleted the post so that you or someone else would not waste time looking for more info here.
Have you tried contacting Google Earth support and asking them?
Have you locked the modem in AUTO or 1xRTT mode? GPS will not work in EVDO only mode.
One other thing. Just a suggestion.... Lighten up a bit. It's not the fault of anybody here that you can't seem to find the answers you need. I for one went out and bought S&T 2007 for a one time price of 39.95 rather than pay Google 20 bucks a year to use GPS with Google Earth.
I am sure I speak for most of us when I say that we are willing to help as much as we can, but, getting upset isn't going to benefit anybody. _________________ Nevermind... |

No I am not upset. Not at all. I am actually laughing. I just find it odd that this pdf is no where. Not even 1 copy.
But I have tried everything. I have MS S&Trips and it works great.
Thanks for the help. Maybe someone will find this out. |

Just a thought...
3GStore offers that PDF to their customers as an incentive to buy from them.
They researched it and I doubt they would be willing to release the information they gained for free. They are, after all, in business to make a living.
The lack of it anywhere else on the web may be a testament to the loyalty felt by 3GStore customers as they have the kind of customer service that few companies would even consider offering anymore.
Not trying to be a smart ass or anything, but, if you are willing to pm me with any required serial or reg code to get GEP to work here, I would be willing to install it and try to figure out how to get it working. Of course I dont expect you to give up the reg info you paid for but if you want it to work bad enough, that may be what it takes.
Just trying to help... _________________ Nevermind... |

| Well I just got off the phone with a 3g sales person. They would not even let me purchase any tech help. I would pay for this freaking CIA covert shadow goverment PDF. I don't know is enabling GPS in google earth some secret to the universe???? This is comical. I am laughing as I type this. No one knows how to get U720 working with google maps or can copy and paste the info which would take a nanosecond. but there is info on how to hack other cards firmware. I am sorry I wasted anyones time. I know now I am in the 3rd dimension. |

Hey guys. I found out how to do this with Google Earth Plus and MS S&T. I am going to type up a doc and send it everywhere. I found it out and I am not going to be a cheeseball and horde the info. So. It is very easy and this is how you do it. Fire up NDIS connection....wait 15 sec then start gps....wait 15 sec....fire up google earth wait 10 sec then go to gps pane and enable position and tracking. all set.
Does anyone see how this easy as hell instructions should not cost money? 3g store is sad for charging people money that took me less the 10 seconds to type. And now that I am pissed I am going to post this and my story all over. Anyone need help just message me. thanks |

we won't even charge you for it, but you then tell people we charge for it? talk about sad.
let's be clear. we do not charge our customers for our GPS Tip Sheet.
we simply do not have the staff to support other than our customers.

feel free to post what you've learned on your own... just be prepared to answer a ton of support questions from folks who can't get it to work quite as easily as you do... or you'll quickly be looked upon as all talk. |

Hmmm oh boy where should I start. Ok lets see.
I called up the 3g store and asked them if they could copy and paste me the contents of the pdf. He told me no he couldn't and that he was sorry. I had to of bought a contract or product from them. To me that is utter bullshit. But apparently now it's free. But before this topic it was no where to be found on the net but yet it was clearly free. Yeah.
Now it is so easy to get this to work it is borderline baby ABC block simple. It took me a TOTAL of under 1 minute. But yet this free pdf that is no where to be found online and none of the data in that pdf either is anywhere to be found until I posted my instructions. Anyways I will help anyone with a U720 device and Google Earth Plus and MS Streets and trips 07. I assure you I am far from "all talk". Apparently a different tune is being sung from the person I talked to at the 3gstore. He would not and did not want to give me any of that data. I asked politely and he told me no. Anyways. You can reach me a jarablue@charter.net for any help with said device/programs. Thanks. |

"we simply do not have the staff to support other than our customers."
Make your tip sheet available to anyone. You will quickly see how little if any support you have to give out. And you don't have to support anyone without a contract from your site. Just publish the data. The community will improve upon it and probably find ways to better it.
Information wants to be free. Support your paying customers not people who want 4 lines of text.
Maybe I am crazy. |

the GPS tip sheet is "FREE" to 3GStore customers. we do not charge for it.
however, that does not mean it is given FREELY to anyone.
get a grip. if all you are going to do is try to blast 3gstore on a forum they own and operate... i assure you it will be short lived. |
