Looks like based on press releases, Alltel has pretty much completed all of the future areas in red (or are roaming on Sprint).
In some states, the area is huge, like KS, NE.
I've been roaming successfully on Alltel DO with Sprint card (for free) in Florida with no issues. Looks like combo between Sprint/Alltel roaming is pretty significant, except for the W Coast and North East, which is Sprint only.
Will be interesting if Verizon ever signs a DO roaming agreement with Alltel. It would easily give Alltel a huge lead in DO coverage, having the coverage of all 3 carriers. If that happens, Sprint/Verizon may as well have DO roaming agreements.

Sorry to bug ya,but what does aml coverage mean? I see the green ami roaming, and blue as Alltel ami coverage. I'm still finding things out about this crazy service.
Also what does the abb service do? |

is there a more detailed map that is zoomed in on Ohio?
This is really really good for Sprint (and Alltel); now their EVDO networks, combined easily top all others. |

I heard alltel and verizon already have a deal. I'm on the west coast. I remember when i visited my parents in Indianapolis that my verizon evdo worked fine. I have been told that Alltel service wise etc is better than Verizon. Does anyone else concur? _________________ Mobile Gamer |

As for Alltel & Verizon's deal . . . for data roaming the deal is for 1x only. The only EVDO roaming available anywhere as far as I've heard is Alltel and Sprint.
As for Alltel's service etc. My experience is that that is true but that varies by area, device, time of day, who you get on the phone at CS, and a bazillion other things!! It's kind of a crap shoot what works best and where. Each and every carrier has their loyalist! This. of course, assumes you can even get certain carriers in certain areas. Like where I am Cingular is not available. You know, the nations largest network, the new AT&T and all that? Not even available 25 minutes from Jacksonville, Fl. So, go figure. I suppose that's why there's the initial grace period they all have, huh. |

^^There have been several Alltel users who have successfully roamed on Sprint network with EVDO. Some have not though, need to make sure you have the latest Alltel PRL. So yes, you should be able to roam on Sprint in CA with an Alltel device with the latest PRL.
Like Bigdave said, Verizon/Alltel only have 1xRTT agreements, not EVDO that I'm aware of. |

| Alltel is supposed to be pushing the new PRL to phones as of Monday I've heard. If you don't get it be sure to do a *228 to update your PRL. |
