When I attempt to activate the card (using Option key & message) and get PRL... i get a message that says "Activating Verizon Wireless Card" which shows a bar and "Please wait..."
The message stays on the screen forever and does not change and does not give me an error message...
I ordered the card from Booster-Antenna and asked that the card be activated before being sent to me... I also have a booster antenna attached... I know that there is service here (L.A.) because I have my verizon cell working in the same spot...
What gives? Any suggestions?
Thanks |

The KPC650 only works with the mac, if you follow the directions on EVDOinfo.com, your card will be recognized by Mac OS X, BUT the menu bar that shows signal strength AND activating will not be displayed, you only see that when using the PC5220.
The cards ship and are activated from the warehouse in San Diego. They are not available until Tuesday, so I cannot confirm with them until Tuesday that the card was pre-activated for you. I did check and you correctly asked for this.
I am a little confused as to why you would see the menu bar to activate your KPC650. You should NOT see this when you insert the KPC650, only PC5220.
Are you running Mac OS X 10.3 or 10.4?
Did you already do the Terminal Hacks? _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

| Yes, I downloaded the install zip file and installed it... then i followed up by doing terminal work... the signal strength is not displayed, but when i have the 650 inserted in the powerbook, i get two symbols on the menu bar -- a monitor symbol (that with 3 prefs: with only power off in bold, the other two are greyed out - unknown vendor and usb controller) and another symbol (an inverted triangle over a couple of dots - which allows a drop down menu... this menu (turn verizon card off, connect, about verizon card, open internet connect -- and a greyed out option at the top: 3g, 1xrtt & a triangle) when i select it and press option key, has an option that says: activate card at the very bottom... when i try to activate card, it opens an application card that does not close -- it stalls while trying to activate... when i select about verizon card, there is no PRL indicated... it is blank... when i try to connect, i get a response that there is something wrong with my modem script... i have selected the verizon 5220 modem script as indicated in directions... since i started the process, my powerbook has started crashing... i have run all utility programs, and there appears to be nothing wrong with hard drive... i have also run permissions... any ideas? |
