ev-do disconnect/reconnecting since 11/29/06

Hi, Will try this one more time. The evdo for Alltel went down on 11/29/06 and after a day or so came back up. I have service in Tucson,Az. and I'm in Maine right now. Ever since the shut-down or whatever they had happen this card has played the dicconnect/reconnect game.I,ve talked to their support team to the point that I'm ready to break out the 10 pd sledge hammer and have a stress break!! First they said yes they were havig a problem and that it would be about two weeks and things would be up and running again,but faster Please!!!!!
I've downloaded twice now a different PRL code and did the reactivation bit, Uninstall/reinstall the software and I even at much inconvenience dumpped the core and reformatted and also new os and reinstalled the Alltel software...Yeah! No change! Twisted Evil

After all this fun and games,NOW the tech agrees that I need a new aircard,Right!! The cards warrrenty went out in November and this is Dec.28th!!A month later of being Lied to! Thanks Alltel!! Twisted Evil

I've been with them for going on four years and they have lost my service after the service contracts are finished. Is there a pc5740 I can buy WITHOUT a contract and finish out the contract with or do I, want to tell Alltel where to stick there air-card and screw them on the contract also and go with another company say,Sprint? At this point, I've got a very bad taste for the air-card in general. Am thinking about sat system, don't know yetI've been hearing rumblings over at the sat site to. Dis I miss something or is this just Alltel? I have used this thing all across the country and I'vr moved around up here and I have had this thing play the same game on 'other' towers. so I don't buy into there 'its the tower' skit I've been downright lied to by them.I'm at the point that I don't care about there contract anymore.I think I may have answered my own question. I still will wait for answers on the seperate card idea as I could Always switch later to another company later with that card.

Sound like the same problem I've had with Sprint. I live in 1Xrtt area and about a month ago EVDO came alive with great speeds :D . Lasted one week :cry: . 1Xrtt speeds were very slow. Then 4 days ago EVDO came alive again :D .

I think Sprint has been playing with towers for Rev. A
Could be Sprint & Alltel roaming agreement causing your problem?

Don't have time to do a bunch of tech chat now but most all of you have hit the nail on the head...likely...in most areas Alltel subcontracts out to...Sprint in Fla. for Evdo...I regularly go to all the corp. stores, test equipment...pda, laptops...evdo/1X...nothing works well & dependably...my Alltel is the worst, agents have been told to lie more or less...Verizon on pda (audiovox 6700, Palm, Berry or laptop) evdo is 400k max on pda & mostly 900k on laptop, laptop sometimes at 1.5meg....I refuse to buy any of the crap until 24/7 all is at least 800k...Alltel in SW Fla is just about the quality for tech of a mexican check cashing store....their whole game is "throw-away" fons & 2 yr contracts....I've been with them for 6 yrs & 4 fons for other reasons...will probably switch when current contract is up & equipment is 800k or more 24/7....more later....your blogs are just about correct, nothing is dependable, up & down bandwidth...the way things are going in SW Fla, probably by end of 2007, somebody will be dependable...for now, its a lying bunch or numb nuts with no tech knowledge...even the Sprint guys are in the dark 1/2 the time and kept that way by corporate...more later

I took the gloves off and finally sucker punched one of the techs and got him to warrenty the card and one is on the way and if this one will keep going for a couple more days I should be maybe ..OK! I changing to someone after the contracts up as this time I almost needed an atorney.
Will TRY and keep you up to date IF I can.

You are not going to beleave this. I got the replacement air-card today and guess what!! They sent me the Kyocera KPC-650 !! I can't beleave the luck. Exclamation

Im Beside myself!! What a differentence.My sprrd is way up even though I'm in 1XRT! Boy, It has better speed and has more signal and I'm giddy as a schoolboy!! Laughing
