Can't stay on EVDO

The other day I noticed that I had an DO in place of my 1x. I did a few speed test and I got 500-530kb. But then is swaped back to 1X after about 30 minutes. Since then, I get DO when its off or dormant. I run the test and it will show me in EVDO area and I wiull Down load for a short time 1-2 minutes before it goes back to 1X. I have an antenna and get 77% on 1X but only about 45-50% on DO. Any Ideals on how to stay on DO? Thanks

Had wireless since August and been 90% EVDO but since 12/15 it's all
over the place signal wise 84db-104db EVDO then to 72db National Access then back again to EVDO. Everyday for 2 weeks now.
Ever since they started the EVDO A upgrades??
IT'S VERY ANNOYING and I hope it's temporary.

Thanks for the reply, One question if you don't mind, When you are running in DO, What speeds are you getting, my max has been only 540kb, but I bet 350 most of the time.

Right now with 2 bars/92db: 444 up and 118 down. Varies though depending on ??? Fast for me is 720-750--slow to 370. Signal is usually a 2 bars
88-85db sometimes 3 bars. Speed can be fast with 2 bars.
Non EVDO is 120kbps down/60 up
I have a fixed desktop with a kpc650 and small external antenna.
My set up is hardwire networked to my wife computer and wireless to daughters laptops.
Can't get DSL I get my TV through satellite but didn't want Broadband that way because of latency, cost and Thunderstorm downtime.

Had similar issues ... Switching between EVDO and 1xRTT

Got a Arc Freedom antenna (tombstone "booster antenna") and it seemed to help
