XV6600 (Verizon) EVDO Connection Dropping

We have about 30 XV6600's in use by our sales team right now and for the most part they have worked great. The last batch we got in seem to have a couple of issues.

1. Even when cradled and the wireless turned off, the device still tries to use the wireless connection to gain internet access. Using MobiControl (great tool BTW) we can access it remotly but IE still can't get out. The connection settings have "Verizon Wireless" as the "Programs that automatically connect to the internet hsould connec using:" setting. All of the other devices work great that way. One or two are being a pain.

2. We have a couple of HH's that will connect via EVDO for just a few seconds and then hang up again.

Has anyone seen or delt with either of these before?
