i just got the PC 5220 aircard from verizon and am trying to connect it. i am getting a message that authentication has failed.
what am i doing wrong. it asks for a password for the connection and according to verizon, Macs are not supported and PC's dont need a password.
ive tried the admin pw, it doesnt work, any ideas? |

ive checked out your page and everything seemed to go exactly as you outlined it. but still no luck.
i think i screwed up one of the other network options or something. can you point out something else i should check?
is it ok to leave the aircard on? or BT? |

Your could delete the PC 5220 Port and start over.
Power Down PC 5220 card
Remove the PC 5220 card
System Preferences -> Network -> Network Port Configuration
Click on AirPrime CDMA Wireless PC Card and click the Delete button.
Click Apply Now
Quit System Preferences
Insert the PC 5220 card
You should get a "New Port Detected" screen:
Click Continue
Enter your account password
In the menu bar that shows signal strength, pull down and click Connect.
That is it, you should now be connected. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

ok tried that too. no work.
problem is that i when i went to redetect the card, all the information was already filled in including my telephone number. it apparently has saved the configuration even after deletion.
i tried removing card and port and rebooting and same result.
is there an easy way to go back to the default network settings and start over?
also i noticed that every time i click connect, there is a modem symbol that also appears to be connecting also. is that normal? |

already posted this on another link, but finally after 3 different texh support persons, i got one who didnt care what kind of computer i had. he immediately recognized that my account was not activated at the switch level and then had it going in no time. the best part was that he had to submit it to switch level technicians who were on reduced schedules because of the holiday and said it might take 48 to 72 hours to get it going, but he helped push it through and it only took till over night. this morning i got up and connected just fine.
moral is, if you get someone who asks you what kind of computer you have, lie!! make him make sure your account is squared away
now i could care less about the first 2 techs i talked too, but i will make sure that Edurado's supervisor knows how good of a job he did for me |
