Look at the bottom of VZAccess Manager window and it will tell you if you are in a "Rev A" area:

1 meg up and 0.5 meg down? Are you sure those don't need to be reversed?

Yep, those are reversed (thanks for catching it).

Also, for the benchmarks, we are only getting 2 bars (-94dBm) signal, not the greatest.

Michael, as a fellow Chicagoan, as you can imagine, I am beside myself with glee (especially considering that I'm already with Verizon on a data plan-no voice)!

The PING times that you are citing are SO GOOD! What low latency! I would imagine VOIP is going to work very well around Chicago with those types of ping times.

Nirvana will have been largely achieved as soon as Verizon starts selling those Novatel u720 usb modems. Will Sprint's version work on the Verizon network? My guess would be probably not. Any rumors on when Verizon will be selling the Novatel usb modem?

Finally, which one of the two routers, Kyrocera or Linksys, are best to use with *Verizon* Rev-A? pros and cons?

Washington DC area reporting here (Silver Spring, MD).

Shows RevA on VZAccess, however here at home, my reception is only 1 bar.

Last Result (speakeasy):
Download Speed: 965 kbps (120.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 234 kbps (29.3 KB/sec transfer rate)

Download Speed: 1077 kbps (134.6 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 231 kbps (28.9 KB/sec transfer rate)

Ping times to google.com range from 80-100ms

Will re-post tomorrow from a better coverage area.

For reference... my ping times on VZ Fios are 26-43ms! Shocked

From these very few reports so far I am impressed with the Vz latency, pings to Google are beating what we are routinely seeing from Sprint Rev A. Looking good so far.

We shipped some AC595 to customers (and employees) throughout the country, so we should start hearing of other reports over the next few days.

What data card are those reporting Verizon Rev.A using to achieve those speeds?

I believe there is only one at this time for Verizon and that is the Sierra AirCard595. VZ/s site says it is Rev0, but once you install it, it has a firmware update to RevA.

Sierra AirCard 595 (the only Rev A card that Verizon is currently shipping).
