Since Verizon hasn't announced Rev A yet, all these sightings are done by our employees OR customers that have purchased a Rev A card (currently only the AC595) and they are firing it up and seeing that Rev A is alive and well.
Until someone with an AirCard 595 brings it to the NY area and reports here, we don't know for sure.
This will all change when Verizon makes the announcement official. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier |

My AirCard 595 for Verizon showed EVDO Rev A today in Columbia, MD 21045 (located between Wash DC & Baltimore). |

I know Michael posted his Rev A results from Moline IL but here are some tests from the Davenport Iowa side of the river.
Download Speed: 1310 kbps (163.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 708 kbps (88.5 KB/sec transfer rate)

At first I wasn't sure if Rev A was working in New Orleans but once I retested at night it seems like it for sure.
New Orleans, LA 70119
4 bars signal strength
4pm
1779 kb/s downstream
200 kb/s upstream
11pm
1393 kb/s downstream
734 kb/s upstream
My first test was in the late afternoon, at night it really seems like Rev A is up in New Orleans without a doubt.

Looks like VZW has Rev A on the south side of Laurel, MD, northeast of Washington, DC. We're about 10 miles northeast of the DC Beltway.
Speed tests to a Virginia server using MySpeedPC with about two bars signal strength:
Date / time: Jan 3, 2007 3:00:58 PM
Download speed: 1.24 Mbps
Upload speed: 596 Kbps
Quality of service: 71 %
Round trip time: 69 ms
Max pause: 234 ms |

I live in a rural area of CA south of Fresno. I have no access to cable or DSL. I got a 5740 aircard 6 months and was happy to get 80 kbps sometimes 100. Verizon just released EVDO last month and concurrently released REV A. I just got a Sierra 595 and installed it last nite. I get 1 or 2 bars but I'm getting pretty good speeds. When it becomes available, I'd like to try an external antenna.
It doesn't get the kind of speeds shown all the time and will drop back to 350 kbps or so. For now I'm very happy |

with 3 bars...
Although the upload seemed like it was sustaining at 200kbps it gave a 84kbps at the end.

| It seems their latency is higher than what was advertised. I though they mentioned the latency for Rev A being around 150 and possibly sub 100?!? Oh well, it is still better than satellite! |

I wouldn't rely on the latency test of the SpeedTest.net, it is usually reports it much higher.
I juste tested our T1, it reported 84ms. I did some pings to Google and it reported 31ms - 39ms.
The point is, the results are only as good as the test. Here is what we saw on Rev A with pings to Google:
