Using US-purchased EVDO PC cards in Australia

We have networks up an running using these cards, but I wonder if need to upload local PRL's to a card that I purchased in the USA ??

Does anyone have any experience with this ?? Question

Was planning to get an Aircard 580 or a 5220 card to run out here. Wink

Someone brought this up before about using a US card in Europe and apparently, you would need to get the card's firmware flashed by your local vendor to recognize the towers in your area.

I never heard back if the fellow was successful but ask your local provider if it's possible.

Thanks Richard. will ask them but I am sure they will want me to purchase the card from them.

Anyone else outside the USA have this experience yet ??
