Starting with RK1007 and still in RK1008, DynDns has been removed as an option for Dynamic DNS. EasyDNS is still an option, BUT we like the free DynDNS.
We have let Kyocera know about this.
If you rely on DynDNS Do Not upgrade beyond RK1006. _________________ EVDO :: EVDO News :: EVDO Antennas :: Buy Verizon :: Buy Sprint :: EVDO Amplifier

It appears that ALL dynamic DNS is broken in the KR1.
I'll try it with an unaltered firmware later, but it appears that the DDNS program isn't started even if it is enabled - it will restart if you go into the page and hit apply, but not out of a boot.
I think this is a bug with the 1007 and 1008 firmware. I don't know if they intended to remove EasyDNS too, but if they did, why leave the screen?
Also lightNTP (network time) is started up multiple times.
DLink is probably getting their Linux consulting too cheap.
(I have a new, new version that you can append the service - any of the 5 or so ez-ipupdate supports - to your password, i.e. for the password, you would type secret@dyndns if you want dyndns.
That DOES work. But I can't get the KR1 to start it up out of boot. |
