I am having serious problems with the KR1 and USB720 together. When I use the modem in my laptop, I have virtually no problems. When I put it into the KR1 router, it freezes up ever few minutes. I have to power down the router to fix the problem - then it freezes again. When this occurs, the signal strength and IP address go down to zero when I check the status page. I am unable to ping anything on the web. My connection to the router remains excellent.
Kyocera and Verizon both told me that the two are compatible with the latest firmware (which I did upgrade to). Kyocera replaced the modem with another one and the problem was exactly the same. Freezes when plugged into the router - works fine without it. I even bought an external antenna - which brings up the signal strength much higher when I use the modem with the router - than when I use the modem in the laptop alone. My situation was escalated and Kyocera told me it appears to be a compatibility issue with the two and there was nothing more they could do but escalate it to DLink. So, they are hoping that DLink will provide me with another model router - the only other option is a refund. Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced this and wanted to pass along this information. |

Dj928,
I also had the same problems with my KR1 when I first set it up. It all went away once I took VZAccess Manager out of the Start-up folder and used the Windows interface for connecting to the wireless network. I still use VZAccess Manager if the USB720 is connected to the laptop directly though this is started manually.

| I don't run VZAccess Manager unless I have the modem plugged directly into my laptop and I set it to not activate on startup. Otherwise, I just connect to the router the way I always have - through Windows Wireless Connection. I am on my third KR1 and the problem continues as it has with the prior 2. Modem works fine without it. |
